Mayor and Council

Council meetings are held on the third Monday of each month starting at 6:30 pm. The meetings are also able to be viewed online through Facebook. To place an item on the Agenda, please contact Palo City Hall @ (319) 851-2731.  Items must be submitted by close-of-business on the Monday before the committee meeting.  Public can submit comments ahead of time via email to City Hall at lennagoodale@cityofpalo.com.

The City of Palo is a Mayor-Council form of government. The residents of Palo elect the Mayor and City Council in staggered 4-year terms. The City Council may, except as expressly limited by the State of Iowa, exercise any power and perform any function it deems appropriate to protect and preserve the rights, privileges and property of the city and of its residents, and preserve and improve the peace, safety, health, welfare, comfort and convenience of its residents.
