Palo Parks & Recreation Meetings are held the 2nd Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. Looking for additional Committee Members.

The Park and Recreation member is appointed by the Council. Vacancies are filled in the same manner.

The term of office of the members is 2 years. If interested, please contact City Hall at (319) 851-2731.

The City of Palo has numerous parks and recreational areas including Memorial Park, Cedar River Park, Dry Creek Park, Donald F. Zeller Park, Clymer Park , and the Volleyball Courts. There are also two Pavilions available for rental, Zeller Pavilion and Clymer Pavilion. Don't forget to check out the splash pad located at Memorial Park. Park facilities are open to the public from 6:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. The City encourages residents to use the ball diamonds and pavilions. The ball diamonds may be used for residents to get together for a pick up game of baseball, kickball, or other sport activity. Please check the appropriate calendar for availability, then contact Palo City Hall to reserve a time and complete a rental contract.
